Romanticism in painting.
It is a movement that we can relate to the liberal and nationalist Revolutions of 1820, 1830 and 1848. Its characteristics are:
1. Painters are impulsive, exalt freedom and human progress. (Use pictures comments)
2. They look back towards the Middle Ages to seek the origins of their nations. National folklore (typical regional costumes, customs) is also its source of inspiration.
3. They are attracted to exotic worlds, such as the Arab world, distant European countries.
4. They paint historical events or happened in their time (revolutionary events, preferably).
5. His paintings reflect strong feelings, love, passion, struggle, despair.
6. In its pictures there is much movement, disorder, tension.
7. They are painters mainly colorists, bright colors, powerful.
DELACROIX, a French painter who stands out for his freedom guiding the people, deals with the revolution of 1830 in Paris, when it was definitively finished with absolutism. Another painting is the Massacre of Chios (1824) event relative to the struggle for the independence of the Greek people.

GéRICAULT, French painter, author of the Raft of the jellyfish,

An icon of the eighteenth-century French romanticism, at least 147 people were left adrift on a hastily constructed raft, and all of them, except 15, died during the 13 days it took to rescue them.
The survivors had to endure hunger, dehydration, cannibalism and madness. The event became an international scandal, partly because its causes were attributed to the incompetence of the French captain acting as a result of the restoration of the monarchy.
His dramatic presentation shows a break from calm, blowing to death.
A balance of extreme negative forces, so we call that this painting has movement.

Plus Romantic Pictures:

I have chosen this image because as a result of the wars or struggle for the freedom of the people of their empires, it reflects the desperation, the corpses shot by enemy parties, defending their purpose that especially at that time was to conquer. Territory.

I have chosen this image as a result of the excessive use of horses, because they should have been used in battlefield, when they are just simple animals to fight, I think many of them would end up frightened as a result of the same concept that I have written In the image above.
